Nine Patch on Point
31704Cc Nine Patch on Point Blue, yellow, dark multi 475.00
73” x 86” 1890-1910, Allen Co., Indiana; maker unknown. Three inch squares of a large variety of prints, possibly all different, are paired with 3” squares of a single yellow calico print to form Nine Patches, half with yellow in the “four” position, and half with yellow in the center and corners. The way they are set together creates diagonal lines of yellow print, which is also used for the 3” wide inner border. The outer border is an indigo print, with a matching applied binding over a blue and white woven check back. Entirely hand pieced, joined, and hand quilted in an X through each square and a braid in the outer borders. Unused and unwashed.
