91614Cc Double Wrench Olive, dark multi 575.00
70’ x 83” 1880-1900, Miamisburg, OH: maker unknown. Brackman #1850 (multiple names from 1884 into the 1930s). Twenty 10” blocks, each formed of 7.5” pattern framed by 1.5” strips of a coordinate, and set on point with squares of dull olive green mini-gingham print. Most blocks have a dark print design set on lighter ground pieces in a wide variety of late 19th century madder prints. On 3 sides a darker olive print forms a 2” wide inner border, and on the final side that border is 1.5” and a second olive print. The 4” outer olive border matches the setting squares, and the binding, back over front by hand, is a blue and brown plaid. Machine pieced and joined, hand quilted in 1” parallels across the diagonal of the pattern blocks and 1” diamonds in the setting squares. The borders are quilted in 1” diagonals. Unused and unwashed; excellent condition.
