74” x 77” 1900-1925, found in northern Indiana; maker unknown. Eight 15” Carolina Lily blocks in dark teal and red are arranged two to a row and alternated with white setting squares. The blocks are arranged with their tops toward the center line, 4 on each side. The design field is framed by a 1½" colored border, teal on 2 opposing sides and red on the other two sides, and a 7” outer border of white. Pieced by hand and machine, with the lilies by hand, the stems top-stitched by machine, and the teal bases or vases joined by machine. Most of the long seams are by machine, and the pattern blocks have been augmented with white strips to bring them to uniform size. Good condition.
